and don’t it feel good!
guess who is *finally* a british citizen!!!
just got home quite late from several christmas “do”s… to find my citizenship letter sitting on the counter with the bills.
i’m crying even as i write this. i have to show up and sing “god save the queen”… but the long wait is over at last.
1727 days after first getting off the plane… i have finally arrived.
christmas really has come early.

Congratulations! The ironic portion is that I was talking about you in class and someone asked if you were a citizen. i said not yet, and by the end of class i said now she is!

Pretty cool feeling, eh? I was in uni when I got my first British passport. It’s kind of surreal when you open that for the first time and it says ‘british citizen’ under your photo. For better or worse your nationality is part of your identity, and all of a sudden you’re more than you were before…

Congratulations, Jen! I know it’s not been the easiest of processes for you but the end result is something terrific, actually, something pretty incredible!
